When you have an enquiry asking to do some backyard wedding photography in Sydney – you think of a colour bond fence, a hill hoist and a bunnings marquee set up near the barbie. Don’t get me wrong -that’s right up my alley too, but when I arrived at Kirstens’ Grandads place to capture her wedding to fiancé Luke, I was blown away. Her Pa has 25 acres in the Sutherland Shire, right on the escarpment overlooking the beautiful Woronora River.
Kirsten and Luke opted for a relaxed, boho themed wedding complete with teepees, lawn games and lots of confetti. Luke, a carpenter, impressed us all with a beautifully crafted platform for him to marry Kirsten on. When I said it was a relaxed day – that was until I put a chair on his deck to stand on for the group shot – luckily no scratches to the deck and I came away without a decking from Luke. (see what I did there)
Thanks Kirsten and Luke for having me along for the day, you both were full of joy and it was a pleasure to capture you guys becoming husband and wife!
