While planning Brooke and Damian’s engagement shoot I received an email back from the couple saying “are you up for an adventure?” This just confirmed they are my kind of people! Being a country photographer I love getting off the beaten track and finding unique places. So Bel and I packed up the kids at 4am on Tuesday and drove up towards Port Macquarie.
So we met at the local IGA car park and piled into the 4WD and started heading bush. We just seemed to keep climbing, up and up, with small portholes through the trees revealing glimpses of the view. Finally the road plateaued and our climb was over. The photo’s don’t really show the sheer drop off nor the distance till you’d actually hit something if you were to practice your base jumping. I’ll definitely be taking the family up here next time.
Having first met Brooke and Damian at a Jamberoo wedding I photographed, Brooke had invited me up to where she works to have a look around. Not many people can say “yeah, my family owns billabong zoo“, so Brooke and I chatted as we wandered around the zoo while Bel and the kids met all the animals. When we arrived at Brooke’s domain, the large cats, she asked whether I’d be alright getting in the enclosure with the Cheetahs on the wedding day. Cant wait to get shots of Brooke in her wedding dress with the big cats. And here is hoping I live to tell the tale!
