Long before ‘Emma’ – the yellow Wiggle got married at Hopewood House Bowral, I’ve been wanting to shoot there. Even more so now because I have a 22month old son Bud, who seems to really like that Emma show on the ABC, and I thought I could impress him by showing him I’ve been to where she got married…
And last Saturday that dream was fulfilled!
All jokes aside, I was so excited to capture my first Hopewood House Bowral wedding, and couldn’t have asked for a nicer couple to photograph than Greg and Alana.
As you would know by now, the Southern Highlands is spectacular in Autumn, and Hopewood House not only lived up to my expectations but blew them away. The gardens are better kept than most peoples facial hair. And by that I mean they are well manicured.
Enough about Hopewood House, let’s talk about the real stars of the day – Alana and Greg.
Alana started the day by ensuring Greg would be as happy as Larry – by sending him over the gift of an awesome guitar. She then stole the show walking down the aisle in the most stunning, ethereal Karen Willis Holmes gown with her Merci Bouquet flowers emphasising the warm colours of autumn. Greg looked super suave in his Manpower suit waiting for her at the end of the aisle.
Outdoor ceremonies are always a win, this one officiated by their priest Father Paul Roberts in the grounds of Hopewood House, really was the perfect mix of tradition and fun. We had a great time adventuring around the beautiful gardens and snuck in a few sunset shots before retreating out of the brisk evening air. Simon Ekas Catering kept everyone well fed while Liam Gray entertained everyone.
Alana and Greg, thanks for letting me capture the day you became Husband and Wife, and I hope you have a wonderful marriage full of love and adventure.
