A few weeks ago Bel and I packed up the kids and the dog and drove out to Griffith to camp out for the weekend. We were out there to shoot Simone and Heaths Big Day. What a great part of the world! If you are ever out that way you should look up Heath for a run down of facts about Griffith, this guy knows his town! For instance did you know 1 in 4 glasses of red wine in Australia are from Griffith and most of Australia’s oranges, rice and hazelnuts are products of this town.
Heath met Simone while they were working together on the Griffith production of Beauty and the Beast, and soon fell in love. He decide to pop the big question to Simone as she was on stage in the lead role of Glinda the Good Witch in Wicked (full story here). The entire cast and crew, family and friends along with a sold out auditorium had a front row seat. Luckily she said yes and he avoided being the laughing stock of the town! But she had good reason to say yes, Heath is such a genuine good bloke.
They chose the Griffith show ground to celebrate at, and had family travel from far and wide to celebrate. Simone looked stunning in her Qnique gown, with flowers by Blossoms Flower Boutique. Simone had her hair done by Diana Auddino and her bridesmaids had their hair done by Betty Boo For Hair. The girls make up was by Jess Fawcett from Reflections Beauty in Griffith. The ceremony was held at St Alban’s Cathedral and guests partied late into the night dancing to the live band.
We were sad to drive home, but will be back (and next time will ask Heath to be our personal tour guide!)
Thanks for having me, both of you and your family and friends were just amazing.
Cheers!
