When you think of the Australian Government weddings aren’t usually the first thing that come to mind, but my time spent capturing Isha and Alex marrying at Canberra’s Old Parliament House has certainly changed that! It seems funny to be writing this blog now with the rain pouring outside, because when I drove to Canberra’s Old Parliament house to shoot their wedding, Canberra was on fire, and so was my home town of Tallong.
The newlyweds live in Perth, however met in Canberra through mutual friends. Thus the Old Parliament House was the perfect spot to acknowledgement Canberras role in bringing them together.
Saturday morning started with a ceremony in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, a celebration of Alex’s heritage. Following that, we ducked outside to the furnace that was the 40+ degree day to get some shots around Canberra. While most would have been a sweaty mess, Isha totally kept her cool and looked glowing and gorgeous all day in her ceremony dress from Brides selection and her reception Tuscany bridal gown, with her hair done by AJ hair and bridal and her flawless makeup thanks to Jacklyne Leigh make up artist
Isha and Alex chose to honeymoon in my motherland, Sweden and Scandinavia, nothing like going from one extreme to another, it’s going to feel cold! Have a great time guys and thanks for having me along to capture your Big Day!
