{ Borrodell Vineyard Wedding }
They say the way to a mans heart is through his stomach. Now I am hopeless in the kitchen (weetbix is my go to dinner if Bel isn’t around to cook) but I know that the couple of times I have made the mashed potato for Bel, she has been pretty happy with me. When Josh and Lindsay met over 7 years ago, he wowed Lindsay by cooking dinner of some of her most hated foods. Lindsay, admittedly having no cooking skills herself was so impressed that they have been inseparable since.
Borrodell Vineyard was the chosen venue and the moment you step out of the car to see the most amazing view from the slopes of Mt Canobolas, you can see why! Sarah from Bespoke Country Weddings did her usual outstanding job of styling, and her choice of seasonal spring flowers for the bouquets was stunning. Lindsay and Josh said their favourite part of the day was walking down the aisle and first seeing each other, that it was a moment neither of them will ever forget. Lindsay’s mum is a bit of a stickler for tradition, and took the ‘something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue and silver six pence for your shoe’ pretty seriously. (I had never even heard of the money in the shoe bit before!) So Lindsay wore old crystal earrings from her Great Aunt to go with her new Peter Trends dress, she borrowed her veil from her bridesmaid Gemma and carried a vintage handkerchief crocheted in blue from her mum. And had a silver sixpence in her shoe!
Well all that tradition must have paid off because it was a beautiful day. Rosemary Shelley officiated the wedding and two sentimental City and Colour songs ‘The Northern Wind’ and ‘The Girl’ were included in their ceremony. Throughout the day I kept noticing Josh and Lindsay would be oblivious to what was going on around them, and were just looking at each other, grinning. Thats when I love that it is my job to capture weddings, and those are the best bits to freeze in time and hold onto forever. Dresses will be worn, songs will be sung and cakes will be smashed, but Love like that is what can last a lifetime.
Congrats Lindsay and Josh, here is to a lifetime of grinning at each other!
