Australia is a very big country. The fact that Europe can easily fit within our borders helps to realise this. So with that in mind, you’d think the chances of a bloke from Canberra (ACT) and a girl from Sydney (NSW) meeting in QLD would be pretty slim. But the call of the country was on both Addy and Ricks hearts, and they met in outback Queensland, Addy and Rick both working as stockmen (and stockwomen? – always a challenge to know what is the correct terminology in this day and age of politically correctness)

So Addy and Rick met, some sparks flew then…Rick moved to Canada. When I think of Canada, I think of Skiing, snowboarding, beautiful mountain scenery. Rodeo riding doesn’t come to mind. But that’s what Rick was doing in Canada. While being thrown around the rodeo ring Rick had one thing on his mind that he couldn’t shake – Addy. So having enough of being bruised and broken he packed his bags and headed back home to marry the girl he left behind.

Addy and Rick now manage a pretty big chunk of outback Australia, in the Northern Territory, and chose to get married back in my hometown of New South Wales – The Southern Highlands. Friends and family came from all over our country to celebrate at the beautiful Bendooley Estate Southern Highlands wedding.

There is that old saying  “don’t work with children or animals” but I say both are winners at weddings, and Addy and Rick having their Kelpie ‘Fly’ as their ring bearer could have stolen the show. But Addy easily took that role, looking stunning as she walked down the aisle in a gorgeous Adam Dixon dress, holding a beautiful bouquet created by Emily Cooper.

The relaxed wedding continued to the Cellar Door, with Bendooley Estate wine flowing to keep the guests happy. As the mist rolled in at the cool of the day we all went into the stunning Book Barn to dance the night away with Xydj.

Ric and Addy then started the long drive home, over three thousand kilometers, but this time as Husband and Wife, with their dog Fly between them, keen to get back home!
